Chandler, Arizona: How the City Handles Political Debates and Discussions

Richard Ruelas, a native of Arizona, has been a reporter for The Arizona Republic and its sister newspaper, The Phoenix Gazette, since 1994. Chandler is a city that offers a plethora of amenities to its residents. From parks and pools to museums and art galleries, there is something for everyone. Clean Elections and the Arizona Civic Leadership Center are hosting an event called Meet the Candidates.

This event will give Maricopa County voters the chance to hear directly from candidates running for the Central Arizona Water Conservation District. Nick has been recognized for his work in Nogales with more than a dozen awards from the Arizona Press Club and the Arizona Newspaper Association. He was even named Best Community Journalist of the Year twice by the AZPC. The city of Chandler is utilizing the Arizona Secretary of State's E-QUAL system to allow candidates to collect signatures of nomination petitions online.
