Animal Protection Laws in Chandler, Arizona

Animals or birds of any kind are not allowed in Chandler, Arizona, except for domestic animals and chickens raised at home. According to Article 3 of this chapter, these animals must be kept or allowed in the city. If an animal is left in a vehicle, a police officer, animal control officer, or animal control assistant may use reasonable force to open the vehicle and rescue the animal. If a person is currently serving a sentence of probation for violating this section and is charged with a new violation of this section on bail or on bail, the judicial officer will impose a condition of release that prohibits the person from possessing or having contact with any animal. Violating subsection A, paragraphs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, or 16 of this section is considered a class 1 misdemeanor.

A person who violates subsection A, paragraphs 8, 9, 10, 11, or 13 of this section is guilty of a class 6 felony. Violating subsection A, paragraphs 14 or 15 of this section is considered a class 5 felony.
