The budget process for Chandler runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year. The city manager is responsible for preparing and proposing the budget to the city council. The council will hold public hearings to allow public participation in the budget process and review the budget before proposing amendments if necessary. After this, they must adopt the budget.
The current members of Chandler's City Council are Deputy Mayor Matt Orlando, Councilmember Christine Ellis, Councilmember Angel Encinas, Councilmember OD Harris, Councilmember Jane Poston, and Councilmember Mark Stewart. Poston has lived in Chandler for 13 years and was also an employee of the city.
